Az új év változást hozott a szentgyörgyi táncházmozgalomban. Január 31-től új helyszínen várjuk a néptánckedvelő közösséget: ezentúl a Bábel Kiskultúr (Csíki utca 21. sz.) ad otthont a havonta megszervezett táncházaknak.
A táncház keretében kezdő szintű tánctanítással várjuk a résztvevőket, ebben a félévben a bodonkúti táncokkal ismerkedhetnek a résztvevők.

At the end of January, the Bekecs Dance Theatre from Nyárádszereda will come to Sfântu Gheorghe with two guest performances. Their production for adults - a folklore performance entitled "Inherited by Dance" will be presented on Wednesday, 29th of January at 7 pm at Háromszék Dance Studio, and the next morning the children's performance "Beautiful New World" will be staged there.

The folklore performance "Inherited by Dance" is an authentic wandering among the representative settlements and dialects of the Carpathian Basin. The performing artists offer a glimpse into the spiritual and cultural heritage of the dancing, singing and musician masters, using their distinctive styles and the aesthetic value of their movements. The performance evokes the typical dance moods of the Southern Plain, Felcsík, Gheorgheni, Satu Mare, Méhkerék, Szilágyság, Sóvidék and Kalotaszeg.
The creators believe in the power of passing on traditions and the benefits they bring; they believe that only by thoroughly learning about the past can we get a better grip on the future.

For sure there are those who think that the increasingly high temperatures and extreme weather are not part of a trend. But those who live with nature can see that something has inevitably started. And we can waffle that climate change will be our grandchildren's problem, but no, it's ours now. And the decision is ours whether to bury our heads in the sand or face our own responsibility.
The hero of our story, Bumburnyak, was exiled to Earth from the planet Idill. To return to his family he must perform three good deeds. The mission succeeds but the little elf never returns. He feels he has work to do: to help people understand our responsibility not to waste nature's treasures. For as we treat each other, so is our world.
The performance has a language that children can understand and relate to, about environmental awareness, alienation, waste and carelessness. Through dance and theatre, it holds up a mirror to us, so that we can look into it and see the outlines of a brave new world.

On 4 December, the Háromszék Dance Theatre will organise a charity fundraising to help the Balla family in Ilieni, in the framework of the performance "Lúdas Matyi", starting at 19:00. On the evening of 18 November, the roof of the family home was destroyed by fire. During the performance donations can be made to the donation box on site. It is hoped that donations will quickly raise the necessary funds to rebuild the affected part of the house and the roof.

A sepsiszentgyörgyi Háromszék Táncszínház és a Lajtha László Alapítvány idén novemberben már harmincnegyedszerre szervezte meg a térség legkiemelkedőbb táncházas rendezvényét, mely a háromszéki népzene- és néptánckedvelőknek egészen biztosan, de jó eséllyel a távolabb élőknek is színes nagybetűkkel szerepel az éves eseménynaptárában.
A régi szép kilencvenes években az esemény fő attrakciója az volt, hogy erdélyi és moldvai hagyományőrzők jöttek hozzánk, táncaikról, zenéjükről filmfelvétel készült, a színpadon is felléptek, esténként meg együtt lehetett táncolni, mulatni velük, ismerkedni, barátkozni, elsőkézből kapni meg az eredeti mozgásanyagot és az azt fenn- és megtartó szellemiséget, gondolatiságot. Az így létrejött kapcsolatokat aztán később kiválóan lehetett kamatoztatni, amikor már mi mentünk mezőségi, kalotaszegi, gyimesi vagy épp moldvai csángómagyar falvakba, az ismerőseinkhez, továbbképezni magunkat. Ez a hullám azonban érthető módon alábbhagyott idővel, ismerőseink megöregedtek, már nem vállalták a hosszú utazásokat, fellépéseket, aztán szép sorban átmentek az égi tánckarba, zenekarba… A nagymértékben megváltozott falvakban ma is létező, hagyományőrzőnek nevezett csoportok idővel szintén felnőnek majd a feladathoz, lesz még értéke annak, hogy valaki ózdi, szováti, sámsoni… Látjuk ezt a mérai fiatalok táncegyüttesén, a hagyományőrzés megújult formában egyre izmosodik, és hitelessé tud válni úgy is, hogy esetleg nincs már mögötte a kézzel aratás, a bivalyfejés. De ez rengeteg munkába és időbe telik.
A Találkozónak azonban addig is, míg a fiatal hagyományőrzők kora eljön, fenn kell maradni és értékes, tartalmas kínálattal kell kiállni a táncházmozgalom immár sokadik generációja elé úgy, hogy a fiatalok erős, népi és hiteles élményben részesülhessenek, de a régiek se húzzák nagyon az orrukat, hogy „régen jobb volt”. Megjegyzés: egy kicsit így is, úgy is húzni fogják, az emberi természet már csak ilyen.
A szervezők évek óta keresik a megoldásokat, hogy egy olyan városban, amelyből tragikus mértékben hiányzik a néphagyomány tömeges ápolásának mindennemű infrastrukturális feltétele, ne csak életben tartsák, hanem lehetőleg egyre jobbá tegyék a Találkozót. És felettébb örvendetes, hogy ez sikerül is nekik!
Ezen a ponton tekintsük át, mi is történt itt az elmúlt hétvégén:
Pénteken délután négykor a városközpontban, a színház előtti – igazán örömszerző táncolásra teljesen alkalmatlan - kövezeten egy népes villámcsődülettel beindult a rendezvény nyilvános programfolyama. Ezt követően a Tamási Áron Színház színpadán a Magyar Nemzeti Táncegyüttes Élő Tánc-Archívum sorozatából a Kalotaszeg és Szatmár tájegységek táncos örökségét bemutató folklórműsor volt látható. Az est óráiban pedig az egyre népszerűbb Folk Kvíz - Táncházas kvíz vetélkedő zajlott hatalmas sikerrel a Háromszék Táncstúdió előcsarnokában, miközben a színház előcsarnokában és büféjében – táncos bokák és térdek ádáz ellenségének számító műmárványon - remek hangulatú táncház és folkkocsma zajlott, kiváló helyi és vendégzenészekkel, a táncosok között pedig a messziről jött ismerősökön túl még kaukázusi vendégdiákokat is felfedezhetett, aki értette az árulkodó jeleket. A lassan öregedő, testi problémáikra egyre inkább odafigyelni kénytelen táncosok nagy szeretettel gondoltak a mindenfelé egyre nagyobb számban felépülő táncház-csűrökre, ahol deszkapadlón és tágas négyzetmétereken, a visszhangmentes térben jól szóló akusztikus népzenére lehet önfeledten mulatni.
Szombat reggel az egész rendezvény átköltözött a Sepsi Arénába. A helyszín kb mindenkinek mindentől messze van, a város szélén, ide már (szinte) senki nem jön gyalog… Ez nem feltétlenül baj, de szűri a látogatókat, egy része azoknak, akik a belvárosban betérnének a Találkozóra, ide nem jön ki. A sportcsarnok nem ilyen rendezvények megtartására jött létre, rendkívül nehéz benne néphagyományos forma- és színvilágú tereket, de főleg pozitívan értékelhető minőségű hangosítást megvalósítani, bár ez azért évről évre javulgat mégis… Idén a Tündérvár Egyesület játszóháza és a Guzsalyas Alapítvány kézműves műhelyei bekerültek a küzdőtérre. Ez nagyon jó megoldás, mert így egy térbe került minden, ami táncházas gyermekek szórakozása és szórakoztatása terén egybetartozik, a színpadon zajló eseményeket is figyelemmel lehetett közben kísérni, és az a zavaró képi forma sem jött létre, hogy bár a korábbi években is nagyon sokan nézték az előadásokat, mégis sok volt a térben az üres felület, aminek a lélektani hatása nem túl jó. Ez tehát megoldódott, ez egy örvendetes fejlemény. Az önfeledten játszadozó gyereksokaság zsivalya nem zavarta a színpadi eseményeket, hiszen utóbbiak kellőképpen kihangosítva jól érvényesültek így is.
A körfolyosón pedig így jobban elfért a kézműves kirakodóvásár, a gyöngyök, népviseletek, régi háztartási eszközök (a „vasalókiállítás”), a nemezszőnyeg- és fotókiállítások szívet-lelket melengető, szemeket gyönyörködtető sora! Ez is jó – bár ezekre így is még mindig sokkal kevesebb figyelem esik, mint amennyit megérdemelnének!
A nagyszínpadon az egymást követő gálák generációs bontása megmaradt a régi forma szerint, de ez nem baj, sőt éppen jó, hiszen ez így ésszerű: reggel a gyermekcsoportoké volt a színpad, délben/koradélután pedig az egyre jobb színvonalú ifjúsági csoportoké, és itt volt idén is Paár Julcsi is! Közben a táncteremben lezajlott a legényesverseny. Ennek kapcsán a rendezvény szünetében épületes beszélgetés zajlott az egyes versenyzőket felkészítő oktatók és az esemény főmeghívottja, az inaktelki Gergely István között, akinek (és többünknek is!) az a meglátása, hogy a verseny helyett, melyre idén az ő táncát kellett megtanulni felvételről, konstruktívabb lenne mesterkurzust hirdetni meg, amelyben hivatásos oktatói asszisztenciával ő maga – minden évben a kiválasztott élő legenda – oktatná a maga táncát mindazoknak, akiket érdekel, több órán keresztül, alaposan és átbeszélve. A Találkozó hagyományaihoz is jobban illeszkedne, mint egy verseny, és nem kizárt, hogy egy kis odafigyeléssel az idén Rugonfalván megtartott Erdélyi Legényestalálkozó is helyet kaphatna a szentgyörgyi Találkozó rendszerében. Visszakanyarodva a programhoz: a legényesversenynek a Háromszék Táncszínházzal megerősített díjosztó gálája nyitotta a nagyszínpadon az esti műszakot. De előbb a táncteremben volt még egy Babinecz Sándor „Bubu” által remek módszertannal felépített pásztorbotoló-oktatás (az ilyen adott esetben nagyon szépen összefésülhető lenne egy fentebb emlegetett tematikus mesterkurzussal) és egy ugyancsak remek hangulatú népzenei koncert Tímár Sárával, a konferenciateremben pedig babás-mamás játszóház Erőss Judittal, hangszersimogató a Folker Zenekarral, néprajzi filmek vetítése, különböző témájú szakmai beszélgetések Ádám Gyula és Kása Béla, kiváló ethno-fotósokkal és az Erdővidékről származó, Budapesten pedig a táncos szakma kiválóságává váló Tókos Attilával.
Az esti gálaműsor-folyam kiemelkedő eseménye volt a húsz éves jubileumát ünneplő hazai Heveder zenekar és meghívottjai koncertje. A rendkívül népszerű együttes önálló színpadi számai is garantálták volna a biztos sikert, de azért hadd álljon itt az impozáns vendéglista is: Pál István „Szalonna” és bandája, Papp István “Gázsa”, Balogh Kálmán, Szabó Dániel, Eötvös Rémusz, "Neti Sanyika" és zenekara, és végül, de cseppet sem utolsó sorban a Háromszék Táncszínház tánckara, Mocsel Hunor fiatal őrkői táncossal kikerekítve. Ritka és egészen rendkívüli alkalom ennyi szakmai kiválóságot egy koncert keretein belül látni, hallani! Hálás lehet az Úristennek, a szervezőknek és a fellépőknek, aki ezen jelen lehetett. Ezúton is gratulálok, kedves Heveder, még vagy „száz évig” abba ne hagyjátok!

Ezután újra a Magyar Nemzeti Táncegyüttes vette át a színpadot, ahol ezúttal Európa szívében – válogatás a magyar nyelvterület legszebb táncaiból c. folklórműsort adták elő, természetesen nagy sikerrel. Leginkább persze, a kalocsai, mezőkövesdi matyó, és sárközi koreográfiákat szerettük, és nem volt ez másként egy estével korábban sem: akkor is a szatmári összeállítás volt a mi szemünkben az erősebb, hitelesebb, a kalotaszegitől kicsit furán éreztük magunkat, hiszen szép, persze, de... Amikor a budapesti profik erdélyi táncokat járnak, valahogy mindig az az érzésünk, hogy nagyon meg akarják mutatni, jobban akarják tudni, mint mi, (sokkal) gyorsabbak, nagyobbakat ugranak, nagy az igyekezet, dicséretes a sportteljesítmény, de valahogy elvész az egésznek az erdélyi-emberi léptéke, a méltósága.
Az elmúlt években rendre magyarországi hivatásos együttesek voltak a rendezvény messziről jött vendégei, ami azért jó, mert így legalább láthatjuk őket is. Jövőre talán érdemes lenne ezen a nyomon továbbmenvén a pozsonyi Ifjú Szíveket hívni meg, de amúgy van már a Délvidéknek is majdnem hivatásos táncegyüttese, a Vajdasági Kamara Táncegyüttes. Őket is különösen érdekes lenne Szentgyörgyön is látni! És mert ez a rendezvény – bár nyitott, és mindenkihez szól, mindenkinek kínál színes, értékes tartalmakat – elsősorban mégiscsak a táncházasok ünnepe, természetesen ezúttal is a rendkívül mozgalmas két napot lezáró táncház tette fel az i-re a pontot. A két nap alatt felvonult rengeteg zenekar majd’ mindegyike szerepet kapott benne legalább egy-egy táncrend erejéig, de szép számmal voltak vegyesbandás megoldások is, valamint a táncházterem előterében, a büfében is folyamatosan szólt a muzsika, az ének, de ott is volt tánc is!

Fantastic performances at the 34th Folk Dance and Music Festival, a tour and guest performances colourize our November programme.
Folk music and folk dance lovers can enjoy a varied and rich programme of events this month. This year, the Háromszék Dance Theatre and László Lajtha Foundation are organising the Folk Dance and Music Festival. The two-day festival will take place between 8-9 November at the Tamási Áron Theatre and the Sepsi Arena. There will be exciting dance performances, concerts, exhibitions, children's programmes and a craft fair.
This year, the 34th Folk Dance and Music Festival will feature two performances by the Hungarian National Dance Ensemble, a company from Budapest. The 10th Szeklerland Lad's Dance Competition will be held, and the Children and Youth Folk Dance Gala will feature children's and youth folk dance groups from Covasna County. Julcsi Paár and her orchestra and Sára Tímár and her orchestra will perform solo concerts for the audience in Sfântu Gheorghe. The Heveder Banda will give a special concert with guests such as Szalonna and his Band, István Papp "Gázsa", cimbalom player Kálmán Balogh, Rémusz Eötvös and Jenő Dima, Jr. Sándor Fodor "Neti Sanyika", from Kalotaszeg. Of course the host, the Háromszék Dance Theatre, will also take the stage.

The Hungarian National Dance Ensemble invites you to a lively and diverse folklore show. In this performance, the company presents a selection of the most beautiful dances of the Hungarian language area, with a special emphasis on originality and style. Legendary Csárdás, Transylvanian and Hungarian gypsy dances, karikázó and of course one of the most virtuoso male dances in the world, the legényes, are also included in the choreography, during which the audience can travel with the dancers - if only in spirit - from Rábaköz to Szeklerland, from Sárköz to Matyó or Southern Great Plain.

Living Dance Archive
Zoltán Zsuráfszky, Kossuth Prize-winning choreographer, inspired by the original dance collections of Dr. György Martin, launched his series Living Martin Archive a few years ago as a tribute to the great scholar.
The "Living Dance Archive" series revolutionized Hungarian folk dance on stage, showing that only from the "pure source" performances of high artistic value can be created. The parts of the series - Bonchida three times, Kalotaszeg, Szatmár, Gyimes and Mezőség - present the most deeply rooted and mastered authentic dance processes and outstanding dance personalities of the title region, giving the audience the opportunity to discover the richness and beauty of their own dance and music culture. Each of the profound and sincere moments of the performances is a testimony to the creator's passionate love for popular culture.

Kalotaszeg - Living Dance Archive
Following the collecting journey of the indefatigable ethnographer György Martin, the Hungarian National Dance Ensemble invites its audience to the gaudy Kalotaszeg. The year is 1969 and the event is a landmark dance collection. The result is a sound film that is a landmark in the history of Hungarian and European folk dance education. The production is a tribute to the Hungarian, Romanian and Gypsy communicators, dancers and musicians who have preserved and passed on to us this wonderful culture.

Can we list 290 villages in our country, in the Carpathian Basin? György Martin and his team have collected the dances of exactly that many villages in the greatest detail - only in Satu Mare! With their noble and epochal work, they have captured the dances of the people living there. The Hungarian National Dance Ensemble presents this material, which has become a treasure trove, as a worthy theatrical experience. The performance begins with a quotation from Zsigmond Móricz's collection from Szatmár, which is transformed into a real theatrical experience by the most beautiful Hungarian verbunk dances, the Csárdás of Nagyecsed and Tyukod, as well as virtuoso gypsy dances.

The Folk Dance and Music Festival will take place for the 34rd time on 8-9 November 2024 in Sfântu Gheorghe, organised by Háromszék Dance Theatre and the Lajtha László Foundation. On this occasion we are launching a drawing competition for schoolchildren aged 6-10 with the title "Folk Dance House in the Round Forest". All the inhabitants of the Round Forest - animals big and small, birds, insects, elves, fairies - are getting ready for a dance. Children are invited to draw a picture of this fairytale forest party, with folk musicians, of course.

Judging, prizes: 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners and the audience prize winner will be awarded a family ticket for the 34th Folk Dance and Music Festival and a gift package. The winners will be selected by a three-member jury of visual arts teachers.
A public prize will be awarded to the art work with the most likes on our Facebook page.
An exhibition of the works will be opened in the Sepsi Arena on Saturday at the Folk Dance and Music Festival, where we will also offer a rich and varied programme for children. Nearly 400 young folk dancers will perform on the main stage, and there will also be performances by Paár Julcsi, Tímár Sára and her orchestra.
Októberben táncszínházi produkció és folklór előadás színesíti műsorrendünket, de a gyerekekről sem feledkezünk meg: Lúdas Matyival, a Libával és a Döbrögi házaspárral a Székelyföld Napok keretében találkozhatnak legkisebb nézőink.
Négyállomásos turnéval indítjuk a hónapot. A Farkas Tamás – Tapasztó Ernő rendezésében, ez év januárjában bemutatott ECCE HOMO c. táncszínházi előadásunkat Aradon, Hajdúböszörményben, a budapesti Művészetek Palotájában (Müpa), valamint Békéscsabán visszük színpadra.
Budapesten két, egymást követő estén mutatjuk be a Munkácsy Mihály nyomán készült produkciót. Az előadások a Liszt Ünnep Nemzetközi Kulturális Fesztivál programjaként, a Müpa szervezésében valósulnak meg.

A hónapot a Home in the Homeland c. folklór műsorunkkal zárjuk, mellyel háromállomásos bel-és külföldi turnéra indulunk október 26-án. A Módos Máté és Módosné Almási Berta Csilla rendezte produkciót Budapesten a Határtalan Táncfőváros fesztivál keretében a Hagyományok Házában, valamint Nagykárolyban és Margittán visszük színpadra.
