In November, the Oradea Dance Ensemble will bring two guest performances to our city: on the 28th they will present the magical dance play Holló Jankó in two organized performances, and on the 29th they will perform the physical theatre performance The Schmürz at Háromszék Dance Studio.
Janko the Raven
- magic dance game -
Based on the Hungarian folk tale of the same title, written by Attila Szabó
The name Holló Jankó is a catchy name, not by chance, since most fairy-tale heroes can be seen as the magnified, self-perpetuating image of human powers. The raven is a symbol of creation and death, of spiritual power. There is something majestic, something mysterious about it. Based on the folktale, we create a story that remains a powerful imprint of the symbolism of the fairy tale in the language of dance. We strive to ensure that everyone, from preschool to adolescence, can extract age-appropriate problems, games, drama and humour. Our performance is about being different, learning about our own story, accepting ourselves and becoming a hero.

A Schmürz ǀ Le Schmürz
a physical theatre madness based on Boris Vian's drama Empire Builders or Le Schmürz
Deep down inside all of us, there lurks an alter ego who personifies our repressed desires, our actions - of which we are not proud - our repressed conscience. This being is always with us, and is there before we can even live the present moment: he is Schmürz.
Given an ordinary family, they flee. Ordinary people, petty bourgeois, constantly passing each other by, as if living their lives in parallel. Fearful they run away from a certain voice, while Schmürz is always there with them. He is not fleeing, he is just there, existing in the same space with the family, enduring all the pain, terror and humiliation. The family's attempts to escape, their torment and eventual destruction are closely linked to the presence of Schmürz. He is the only survivor, the survivor of everything. He is the Schmürz.
