Turnékra készül márciusban a Háromszék Táncszínház

2025. March 3.

In the middle of the month, as part of a tour, we will perform our folk dance production Home in the Homeland in Timișoara and Arad. Our ensemble will be a featured performer at the March 15 commemorative celebrations.

Directed by Csilla Módosné Almási Berta and Máté Módos, the production invites the audience on a dance-filled journey. We leave behind the familiar landscapes of Transylvania, with its mountains and plains where we move with ease. We step out of the region whose culture has been an integral part of our lives since childhood—so much so that we speak it almost like a mother tongue.

We head west and take a deep dive into the dances and folk music of the Palóc people, the herdsmen, shepherds, horsemen, and cattlemen of Hortobágy, and the world of the peasants of Somogy. Though all part of the same spiritual culture, each community reveals its own unique values and expressions.

From Subcarpathia, we offer a glimpse into the culture of the Seklers of Visk. We then move on to the dances of the Bukovina Székelys, who migrated to the Lower Danube region. This group, despite their long and complex history of migration, has preserved its traditional Székely attire, dances, and music to this day.

During our dance-filled journey, we will encounter both ancient elements rooted deep in history and the more refined traditions shaped by new cultural waves. Along the way, we will also have the opportunity to share what we bring from home.
