Drawing competition for schoolchildren in the framework of the 34rd Folk Dance and Music Festival

2024. October 9.

The Folk Dance and Music Festival will take place for the 34rd time on 8-9 November 2024 in Sfântu Gheorghe, organised by Háromszék Dance Theatre and the Lajtha László Foundation. On this occasion we are launching a drawing competition for schoolchildren aged 6-10 with the title "Folk Dance House in the Round Forest". All the inhabitants of the Round Forest - animals big and small, birds, insects, elves, fairies - are getting ready for a dance. Children are invited to draw a picture of this fairytale forest party, with folk musicians, of course.

How to apply:

  • Artwork on A4 paper can be sent by post or brought in person to our office between 10:00-12:00. Our address: Háromszék Dance Theatre, 520003 Sfântu Gheorghe, Gábor Áron str. 1, Covasna County, Romania
  • The name, age, address, school/teacher's name, contact details (phone number, e-mail address) should be on the back of the drawing.

Deadline: 21 October 2024 (postmark)

Judging, prizes: 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners and the audience prize winner will be awarded a family ticket for the 34th Folk Dance and Music Festival and a gift package. The winners will be selected by a three-member jury of visual arts teachers.

A public prize will be awarded to the art work with the most likes on our Facebook page.

An exhibition of the works will be opened in the Sepsi Arena on Saturday at the Folk Dance and Music Festival, where we will also offer a rich and varied programme for children. Nearly 400 young folk dancers will perform on the main stage, and there will also be performances by Paár Julcsi, Tímár Sára and her orchestra.
