Music: Heveder Band and the Folker Ensemble.

In addition to our own events, we will also host a guest performance. On 13 February, the Udvartér Theatre from Târgu Secuiesc will come to Sfântu Gheorghe with a guest performance. The musical fairy tale play A kolozsvári bíró will be staged at the Háromszék Dance Studio, directed by Tapasztó Ernő.

We have many tales of King Mátyás, and the performance tells a well-known story with humour and quality music. The text is written by Szente Béla, to which Gulyás Levente has composed a lively, upbeat song that combines the music of the Renaissance with modern sounds.
The tale is interesting in that it features the figure of Queen Beatrix alongside the just Mátyás, offering the wise king's wife a loving marital rivalry in the field of justice. In the end, of course, Mátyás wins, justice prevails!
We have known the story since the 17th century from Heltai Gáspár's Hungarian Chronicle, and it was also adapted by Benedek Elek and Tóth Béla, and it has been passed down through oral tradition through Hungarian fairy tales and sagas, Hungarian anecdotes, collections of various Mátyás tales, calendars and school books.
