Starting February 17, a unique partnership will begin between the Háromszék Dance Theatre and the Sepsiszentgyörgy campus of Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania.
Endre Virág, director of the Háromszék Dance Theatre, will join the university’s sports and coaching program as a guest lecturer, offering weekly classes. Within the framework of an optional course, students will have the opportunity to explore the theory and practice of folk dance. They will learn about the origins of traditional dance, gain insight into the diverse dance traditions of the Carpathian Basin, and experiment with both historical and contemporary styles. The course also includes familiarization with ballroom dances and popular dance sequences from traditional dance houses.
We believe this initiative will inspire students to connect with the world of folk music and dance, while also strengthening a sense of unity and shared culture—values that are essential in both the arts and sports. This collaboration reflects one of our core missions: to educate future generations and preserve our cultural heritage.
We extend our sincere thanks to Sapientia University for their trust and support!
