The Háromszék Dance Ensemble is preparing for a premiere

2023. June 8.

Our current season is crowned by the premiere of a new folklore production "Home in the Homeland" directed by Módos Máté and Módosné Almási Berta Csilla, which will premiere on the 16th and 18th of June.

The creation of the performance "Home in the Homeland" is an extraordinary event in the life of the Háromszék Dance Ensemble in two respects. On the one hand, it is the creative debut of Módos Máté and Módosné Almási Berta Csilla, two young Hungarian choreographers who are creating a full-length production for the first time in the professional dance scene. On the other hand, the dances of regions that will be performed for the first time on the ensemble's stage will be brought to life. The performance will feature dances from Somogy, Rimóc, Hortobágy, Visk, Bukovina, Nagypalád and Szeghalom. The performance is supported by the Csoóri Sándor Fund.

"It's a big undertaking. We're leaving the familiar Transylvanian landscape, whose mountains and plains we feel at home in. We are leaving the region whose culture has been part of our lives since we were small children and speak it almost as a mother tongue. We are heading westwards, taking a deep dive into the world of the peasants there, which, although part of the same spiritual culture, has so many different values. We do this with as much dedication as the Szeklers of Bukovina or Visk before us. We will encounter both ancient elements and the civilised traditions of new fashions, but we will also have the opportunity to show what we have brought from home." - say the creators.

The performances will take place on the 16th and 18th of June at 19:00 at Háromszék Dance Studio, and further performances will take place on 19 and 20 June.

Tickets for the performances can be purchased at the Central Ticket Office.
The office is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fridays and one hour before the performances. Phone number: 0267-312104.
