After a two-year break, the Folk Dance and Music Festival will be held again in Sfântu Gheorghe on 11-12 November. The event, organised jointly by the Háromszék Dance Ensemble and the László Lajtha Foundation, will be held for the 32nd time this year.
The main programme of the event will take place at Sepsi Arena on Saturday, the 12th of November, where the organisers are waiting all ages with rich and interesting programmes. Several generations of folk dancers and musicians will perform in a gala programme. The 8th Lad's Dance Competition from Szeklerland will be held, and there will be a costume show, dance and singing lessons, a film screening, a musical instrument demonstration, a photo corner and a photo exhibition. There will be exciting concerts, including a folk music concert by young musicians from Cluj, and a concert by Julcsi Paár and her band. In the morning, 14 children's folk dance groups and nearly 400 young people will perform on the main stage of the Arena, and there will also be interesting children's activities, a craft fair and many other activities for children and adults.
The Danube Art Ensemble is the special guest of the event, and the company will enrich the programme of the 32nd FMDF with two performances. On Friday, 11 November, at 19:00 they will present their production "Seven Towers" in memory of Imre Makovecz at the Tamási Áron Theatre. The next day, on 12 November at 20:00, the audience is invited to the Sepsi Arena for a dance theatre performance of "Our Love, Kalotaszeg".
A free shuttle bus will run to the Arena every hour.
